Background

Chén Kenyon is an assistant professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania, a general pediatrics hospitalist attending at CHOP, and a faculty member at PolicyLab and at the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness. Dr. Kenyon received his undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Rochester, and attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center, where he served as a chief resident. He received his master’s degree in Health Policy Research as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Kenyon's research focuses on integrating care systems and reducing disparities for children with asthma. His recent work includes delineating risk factors and assessing variation in repeat hospitalization across children’s hospitals, assessing the independent effects of recommended asthma discharge medications on readmission, and generating audit and feedback mechanisms for improving care for children admitted to the hospital with severe asthma exacerbations.
