Characteristics of Rashes Unlikely Secondary to Drug Allergy
- Rash onset > 5 days into course
- Rash is maculopapular
- No hives
- No pruritus
- No other symptoms
- Well appearing
If all criteria above fulfilled, penicillin allergy may be removed, and patient may be given penicillin antibiotic.
